This is just an opinion. No links. No back up. Could the whole Ferguson Grand Jury thing have been drawn out so that it didn't coincide with the 2014 elections?
One could look at it from both angles.
1. Postpone it so it doesn't inspire the black demo to vote in big numbers. Postponement benefits Republicans.
2. Postpone it because the rioting/looting/vandalism was anticipated and that spurs people to vote Republican, the party they see as the law and order party. Postponement benefits Democrats.
After the summer riots they had a drive to register the Blacks there.
They reported over 3500 people registered.
A few months later they "corrected" their number to 138.
Those people in Ferguson don't care enough about politics.

But it wouldn't just affect the vote in Ferguson. This is a national issue whether it should be or not.

In the end what drove elections this time and past will drive elections in future. He was just being more polite than most on internet; he could have used past lynch mob turned arsonist and looters.

As a retired Florida Army Guardsman, I concur with your statement. Yes there is always those who have a political axe to grind. , but the majority is a opportunity to loot and burn their own property and businesses to the ground.
In the day we were authorized to shoot looters and people who engage in public property destruction. It just may send a message to those who are looking for any excuse to cause endangerment of life and property,
My theory, or shared theory, is that our Community-Organizer-In-Chief and Holder had the grand jury decision delayed to coincide with illegals' EO to distract media attention to Ferguson and planned riots coordinated by Al Sharpton & friends. Sharpton was summoned to WH in recent weeks to plan and coordinate riots and phony unrest.
Majority of blacks angered at grand jury's no-bill, and not focused on the fact that Obama is really screwing blacks.
Obama's order to IRS: no need to press Sharpton on back taxes due; not a smidgen of evidence that he really owes any taxes, now is it?

It could have been a possibility Laura.
For sure, Ferguson has pried the top off a big can of worms for both parties. How each addresses them or if both ignore them, may become a big determining factor for the Presidential elections of 2016, when turnout is traditionally much higher than the mid-terms.
The problems in Ferguson are long standing and deep, and only partly racist in nature. The fact is, these days, most black folks don't live in big-city ghettos as they did in the past. Just like white folks, they have moved to the suburban cities, and the suburbs are in trouble of all kinds now, everywhere in the United States.
Ferguson may expose many problems that are the same in largely white suburban cities. It may not even be the most bitterly fought, either… white folks take to the streets just as much as people of color when they're angry enough.
