His listernership is up. His market shares are up. His ratings remain as high (if not higher) than ever have been.
Sorry.
Ratings are high because there are so many of us tuning in to laugh at him. He's one of the funniest things on radio these days because he's such a hypocrite.
You are wrong because Rush has not endorsed a candidate. Rush has not told people "do not vote for Huckabee". Rush has those he prefers over others. If Rush were to endorse a candidate and it was say hypothetically Thompson or Romney, Huckabee would sink.
While it's true that Limbaugh hasn't explicitly endorsed anyone, are you trying to make the assertion that he isn't hostile to Huckabee? I rarely listen to him, but in the hour that I did hear him on Thursday, he was strongly damning Huckabee with faint praise. Perhaps that's too subtle for his regular listeners to catch onto, though.
My point is that Huckabee is doing remarkably well despite Limbaugh's antipathy and the disapproval of the Republican party establishment. It's clear he won't do much in NH today, but let's see how he does in SC and Fla. He's leading in the Texas polls now, too.
I think you are counting your Huckabee chickens before they are hatched. Get back to me after he gets more scrutiny.
I think Huckabee's doing much better than anyone expected. And the usual suspects in the Republican party (including Limbaugh) don't like it. Not one bit.
I'm not saying Huckabee will win the nomination, but don't count him out. And Limbaugh's say-so won't be a factor.

huckabee is doing good because of iowa.. wait until the rest of the nation gets to throw their votes in... then this pastor turned politician will be done...
I think Rush would love to endorse Thompson but he is scared to, becuase then if Thompson goes nowhere that would reflect poorly on his influence. So apparently as some posters are suggesting he is playing cutesie and giving Thompson kudos without a direct endorsement.

I think that you're misunderestimating his appeal. He's looking good in national polls now.
"In the roller-coaster race for the Republican Presidential Nomination, it’s Mike Huckabee 21%, Mitt Romney 19%,McCain 18%, Rudy Giuliani 13%, and Fred Thompson at 11%. Ron Paul attracts 4% support"

He (like thousands of others) became addicted (involuntarily) to a prescription drug due to his severe back pain. The same prescription drug that many others of all professions (teachers, lawyers, businessmen, policemen, firefighters, etc) have become additcted to.
They weren't taking this drug for "kicks" or "fun" like many who take illegal drugs do; it was to try and ease pain.
