No one who wants to legislate based off their personal religious beliefs will win a General Election for President. Period.
I like a lot of what Carson says but he is against Gay marriage and Pro-Choice which would hurt him in a General election. There are many Gays, and Gay marriage supporters, and women who vote Dem on these two issues alone.

Someone being against gay-marriage would hurt them in a General, but might not destroy them, if they are against it, but respect the fact it is now law and won't fight against it. Someone like Carson (along with Perry, Cruz, Huckabee, etc) who are against it, and actively fight against it, are unelectable.
