I think they probably will. I was talking to a friend of mine who is a far-left liberal, and mentioned that I was leaning towards Ted Cruz 2016. "You know that he's a Canadian," came the response, followed by a litany of reasons why Cruz could not run for POTUS.
So is he eligible? The vast majority of legal thought and arguments indicate he is.
Will that stop the left from going full-birther in 2016? I doubt it. If Cruz does run, which I hope he does, it's going to make the birtherism of WND, Trump, etc look like a play toy. We're going to get birtherism from NBC, ABC, CBS, and the NYT. We're going to get birtherism espoused by the Katie Courics, the Charlie Gibsons, and the elite of the elites.
I think that anyone on the left who goes birther on Ted Cruz is probably just as nutty as the right wingers who went birther on Obama.
Aside from that I think many on the left want Ted Cruz to be the GOP nominee because of his tea party associations and the fact that he is tied to the shutdown.
What I think will be more interesting is whether the birthers who were so loud about Obama are going to go after Cruz, somehow I think the (R) by his name will make them go silent.
As always, liberals will make any campaign about anything but the issues. It's the only way they have a chance at winning.
Wow--those liberals must be total geniuses as the Dems have won the popular vote in the last 5 out of 6 general elections. You'd have thought the $300 million of Koch Bros. money that Karl Rove spent could have kept people focused on the real issues instead of squandered on negative advertising and spreading fear.
Actually, they won't. There's enough stuff on Cruz - namely his off-the-wall pronouncements -to build a compelling case against him, without going birther.

I don't think all that's necessary. If Cruz wins the nomination, the Democrats are assured an easy victory.
hasn't happened yet ( and the "left-leaning" link you provided cites the CRS report that would consider cruz eligible ). the vast majority of cruz birthers to date have been pre-existing obama "de vattel" birthers who are almost unanimously on the right side of the political spectrum.

And that's BEFORE they get to all of the crazy things Cruz' dad has come up with! Republicans just love "guilt by association." (See Clinton, Hillary/Bill)
