With all of the Lynch talk going on and our experiences with Holder, I actually think that job is more important than Vice President. The job should go to someone with a law background and we want someone who will actually enforce the law/uphold the constitution, maybe Cruz would make an excellent Attorney General. What do you think? Could you see him as the AG with any of the other GOP candidates as President?
I would rather see him as the AG than the president.

12 years as a Senator, especially if Cruz can pass some meaningful legislation or if he gains a chair on one of the important committees, will give him both seniority and more credibility than he has now. He won't give up the solid track he's on for a cabinet post; how many cabinet members have ever gone on to The White House?

None I can recall, except for Bush#1, who held a bunch of cabinet and/or top level administrative positions before becoming V.P. Much more typically, a cabinet position is a political dead end. Those who came out of Congress sometimes go back to their old jobs, but not very often.

I fully believe Cruz has more ambitions than an early end to his political career. Right now, he is not the Voice of the Senate that he wants to be, but another term could allow him to achieve that. His re-election would come in 2018, just right for a 2020 run at the White House if he wants it. If not, in 2024 he will be 54, still young for a President.
I very much agree with you. I just think all the Cruz talk is media hyped, I personally am not a huge supporter of him, I would have trouble supporting him for Pres and I doubt he would consider being the AG, but who knows?/ It might be a good stop for him if he doesn't want to further his political career. If he does want to carry his career further, you are right, he will seek another term in the senate.

Cruz has taking a very bombastic approach to anything and everything, he would have very little chance of getting confirmed.

He wasn't put in Washington, to make friends.
