Why not elect a Navajo, a Chippewa or a Dakota President?
Just asking
Go for it!
Haven't you heard?
No one meeting stated qualifications is excluded from running for office of the president, even the tribes mentioned.
Who would stand in your way?
Hey Elizabeth Warren might be a good choice for your novelty election at the sacrifice of the country. Doesn't matter she lied about her lineage, it is a mater of genetics by desire. The media wouldn't even question it and you'd be killing two birds with one stone.
You just need to find a 'qualified' candidate and get the votes. Simple.
Unfortunately the confused and bewildered have demonstrated their definition of 'qualified' has nothing to do with experience, leadership, ethics or ability. Then there are the perenial victims who see conspiracy against them and "their kind" everywhere.
12,000 years? You got a link to your assertions? Doesn't matter anyway. Everyone born here is a native American. Just because some ancestor's of the indios migrated here long ago doesn't give their descendants a special classification of "Native American". They are no more "Native American" than the descendants of the Europeans are.
Yes, everyone born here is a native American. But to capitalize it (Native American) would be incorrect. That term goes to the indigenous people who are not of European (or really anything east of the Atlantic) decent. This is widely accepted as being true. Other terms exist for this group as well. But the term 'Native American' is there's. That doesn't mean you and I aren't native Americans. But the thing is, no one who is a natural born citizen feels the need to say they are a native American unless it's in situations like this where patriotism suddenly trumps reason: they just describe themselves as American.

No. Native American is an ethnic/racial group. It's different from 'native American,' which applies to anyone born in the US.
This is just like he word holocaust. See, there's THE Holocaust, which applies to the Nazis attempted extermination of the Jews. Then there's just the word Holocaust, which can apply to any widespread killing/genocide. There are those who would get upset that describing something, like say the Armenian genocide, as a holocaust, because some people have a need to feel special about their title. However, the term is far older than that and can have a lot of different meanings. Same with Native American. Capitalizing it makes it different from not capitalizing it. The context in which it is used changes the meaning. Many words and phrases have this characteristic; do you have a problem with those as well?
Hello,
People can play with the definition of the word Native, let's be clear on this: I'm referring to those people who were here before Europeans came in.
So if the word Native raises questions, then let's say this:
Isn't time to Elect somebody who is 100% a descendant of the people who were on this soil before Europeans came in?

100% huh? how about this guy? He's only 1/32 American Indian but he's Chief of the Cherokee tribe. Is that good enough? I grew up in Northern Arizona, if anyone that looked like Bill John Baker said he was Native American people would laugh.

While we continue to explore the "Village People" for candidates, why not a black/Hispanic, handicapped, Jewish/Muslim/Hindi/Cantonese, non-educated, foreigner from Estonia with limited English speaking abilities just to continue how understanding we are no matter the cost???
I mean hey, look how good we made out with the last change?
