Default Who Have The GAYS Endorsed??

I wonder which way the gays will go in the primary between Obama and Hillary. This is interesting because a look at both candidates indicates that Obama has a better record on gay issues than Hillary but at the same time gays are mad with him for hanging around with some preachers who are less than friendly to the gay cause. On the other hand HillBill are more moderate to gays- perferring "don't ask, don't tell" to Obama's promise to ope the military to gays period. So where do they go?

Edwards. The other two have shown us that they use us when it works for them and throw us to the wolves when we become a problem.

I agree about Edwards, except for the Log Cabin Repubs. Obama appearing with the anti-gay minister didn't help him with the gay population.

Log Cabin Republicans don't get any sway in the GOP. Fringe is so 1980s.

I'm gay and I'm voting for Ron Paul. The Clintons just pandered to the gay community and then fell through on their promises. DOMA? "Don't ask, don't tell?" Please.

I must say I am not happy with the Obama anti-gay minister association but I believe he would be more supportive of equal rights than Clinton.

Just because he has meet with an anit-gay minister doesn't mean he's against gays! How do you know if he truly knew the ministers background?

To me all ministers that are true to the bible are anti-gay! duh people....find anything else that he has against gays.

Me too.

Joe Solmonese - President of the Human Rights Campaign - is dead set against Obama. While he did invite a gay minister to the concert in question, it still doesn't make up for the gay community's views of McClurkin.

http://www.nytimes.com/2007/10/25/us...l?ref=politics

Quote:
Mr. Solmonese said in a statement that he appreciated the campaign’s invitation to Mr. Sidden, but added: “There is no gospel in Donnie McClurkin’s message for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender people and their allies. That’s a message that certainly doesn’t belong on any presidential candidate’s stage.”
Even so, most gay groups seem to support obama more than Hillary.

I'm an unabashed Obama supporter, yet I thought he should have distanced himself from Donnie McClurkin in much the same way he's distanced himself from his pastor.

Obama's on record as being critical of homophobia, especially in the Black community and the Black church. I believe him, but he's got to put more action behind his words in this regard.

Either Ron Paul or Hillary would be the best for gay voters. (Ron Paul more than Hillary).

Romney's positions on the gay community are part of the reason I have trouble saying "I would vote for him." He also completely snubbed a dying medical marijuana patient. At least Obama wants in INCLUDE people.
