You do realize that the Tea Party Grassroots, are Independents.
Instead of pushing, you need to pull them.
Mitt Romney & John McCain had the Establishment base, but pulled no independent voters.
Ron Paul on the other hand, had the Establishment base by proxy. They were not going to let a Democrat hold the power. But Ron Paul also had the Independent silent majority too, which would have put a Republican in the Whitehouse.

So, Who is really costing the GOP elections?
The New World Order? The Globalist? The MONEY that makes the world go around?
They don't care if it is a Republican or Democrat, as long as they are a Globalist Progressive, protecting the ruling rich.
The media is just the propaganda wing of the Global New World Order Progressives. Where Freedom & Liberty, disrupts the plan

The reason Ted Cruz and Rand Paul are already getting the attack launched early, by big MONEY, at them both.

The way I see it, is that the GOP will never win another presidency with the tea party. The tea partiers are too extreme for the average American.

In reality, the Tea Party members are average Americans who are fed up with the same old same old that we've been putting up with for decades.

In 2012 Romney won independents, largely because the GOP has been losing people to "independents" what is the critical group is Moderates which Obama won by a double digit margin and I don't see what the tea party brings the GOP there.

Teaparty is too extreme with their views.

I think the mainstream Republicans should actually push them away if they want to win.

Someone like Jon Huntsman i could see winning the presidency.

It's in the absolute refusal to negotiate.

You're right. The Republicans needs the Tea Party to win elections (lucky them). That doesn't mean they need to nominate a tried and true Tea Party candidate. They simply need to find a reasonable candidate who is palatable to the Tea Party. Nominating the perfect Tea Party candidate would be committing political suicide .. it would be as if the Democrats decided Dennis Kucinich was their man back in 2004. Talk about a blood bath that would have been. Instead, Democrats picked a guy the Kucinich freaks could live with and the moderates would vote for.

The independents he needed stayed home.
Same thing will happen again, if the Establishments pick, goes in like it is theirs for the taking.
