I thought better of him for not signing that ridiculous political stunt of a letter to Iran. Then he did....

Rand Paul's Obama-Gay Marriage Slag: Does Anyone Else Wonder What The Joke Was Supposed to Be? - Hit & Run : Reason.com

I'm sure a lot of folks feel that is not an issue, but intolerance and immaturity seem pretty important to me in a president.
This is a GREAT example of quoting out of context. According to the article you linked, Rand Paul did NOT ask if Obama "could get any gayer", as you implied. What he said was, “I wasn’t sure that his views on marriage could get any gayer,” and then he went on to say, “Now that doesn’t mean we have to be harsh and mean and hate people. [snip] But that doesn’t mean that we have to go ahead and give up our traditions,” and then Paul went on to affirm that he was indeed in favor of traditional marriage.

My personal view is that ALL long-term domestic unions between a couple should be registered (if that is what the couple wants) for legal purposes (insurance, taxes, decision-making in a medical crisis, etc.); and then if a couple wants to have any kind of other ceremony (religious or otherwise), also, fine.

Here I'll fix my context, "Asking if Obama's views on marriage "could get any gayer", does not represent a guy who embraces equality or maturity."

Better now?

So, demeaning gay people by using them as an insult and failing to back gay rights is a Libertarian view?

Or just Rand Paul's view.

And not at all immature, using that slur?

And I'm out of context? That is some serious spin. Or denial. I get it, he's the best you got, warts and all!

Honestly, I hope he gets the nomination, his views on Medicare and Social Security alone make him unelectable at the national level. It'd be a turkey shoot.

It is a bad comment but we have seen much worse comments than that.

Meaning you think a guy who supports deep cuts or even elimination of those programs has a chance in a national election with our demographics?

That is not meant as an insult, it is an obvious point. He will never get the nomination, then he will run as a third party candidate and draw votes from the GOP. I don't need a crystal ball to call that one.

Well, well, well... I didn't mention anything about race, or even current or past presidential policy! My opinion of Rand has nothing to do with Obama, Hilary or any other politician. Only him!

Regarding sticking with the status quo, you're damn right I would like the same outcome as 2008 & 2012! I'm personally better off and the country is in much better shape now than it was in at the end of the last Republican administration...

I'll support him over Hillary Clinton. I still want to see all the candidates.

because you can go 1 post without doing it doesn't change anything.

He differs little from Hillary is the point.

The economy stinks and we're still involved in never ending wars in the Middle East while arming everyone and their dog. Good thinking on your part.

What exactly stinks with the economy? Job growth is on the rise and we have better job creation than any point during the recovery. I'm not an Obama supporter but I see this.
