We have heard a great deal about the Democratic Party's demographic advantages -- how it appeals more to younger, more diverse voters of the sort now preparing to boycott the state of Indiana. These voters are the future, and the angry old white guys who form the core of the GOP are fast fading away.

But there is a troubling paradox here. The party of angry old white guys have elected youngsters -- like Bobby Jindal and Nikki Haley, both 43 -- while the party of youth and diversity has put Jerry Brown, 76, in the California Governor's office.

The Lost Generation: The Democrat's Demographic Problem*|*Steven Conn

Def a very "lib" article but; the writer's right just looking at the numbers. The Dems are in some real trouble, especially if Hillary doesn't run.

Republicans are not really that much better off when it comes to demographics. They had the same white make turnout percent for Romney on 2012 as they did with Reagan, the issue is the percentage of white make votes is smaller now.

Try to frame it however you want, even young republicans don't agree with the anti-gay agenda, and are much less likely to buy into the anti-global warming crap. Add into the fact that white population is ever-shrinking as a percentage of the electorate, and Republicans ongoing utter failure to in any way reach out to or make inroads with hispanic/latino or black voters and you have a recipe for worsening results ad infinitum. Only gerrymandering is really helping the right hang on, and that will only extend the misery so long ...

This is a pretty interesting problem. It is as if they are in love with boomer leadership is in love with itself, and cannot see the ocean of talent out there. They have ruled the roost for so long they just don't see it.

Obama came from a somewhat younger demographic, and there is no reason to believe more talented folks exist outside the geratol gang. But I am not seeing anyone.

There are quite a few younger Democrats that have talent and could become big on the national stage, other than Booker, perhaps not as well known as some of the Republicans, but there are quite a few of them. Florida Congressman Patrick Murphy has announced his intention to challenge Marco Rubio for Senate (and would be a strong challenge) turns 32 today There are quite a few other Democrats in their 30's and early 40's that could be big on the national stage in the not too distant future.

2 things here: 1, "Hispanic" ain't a race even tho la raza and the MSM keep trying to push that lie; 2, look at the article, the Dem blood is quite old but the Repub blood is much younger and ain't all "anglo white" tho it seems the Repubs are more likely to count some dark skin people as "anglo white" by culture. Many Dems don't it seems.

Since when are liberals for diversity??

And the Young Republicans are more powerful than a lot of people choose to think. If the events of the last six years don't change people's minds about the failure of liberalism, then nothing will.

And, old Harry has an 'exercise' accident, at home, away from prying eyes, leading to his retirement. Old Aunt Hillary has a fall and is not available for testimony, for weeks and weeks. That spring chicken, Empress Pelosi is getting more and more churlish, as her face sags into its real shape, reflecting old age.

Yeah, a lot of young leadership there. Can bingo games and hanging head drooling be far behind?
