Republicans can't win the presidency in 2016. Obama could have lost the states of Florida, Ohio AND a few more and HE STILL WOULD HAVE WON!

And blue states tend to be solid blue, as red states tend to be solid red.

Good point- I'm not for either party. However, I cannot see a Republican getting elected President when most of the large states have so many minorities. The electoral vote system is stupid- should just be whoever gets the most votes.

When is the last time there was a Latino who won the Republican party? Never. Latinos, as with other minorities, tend to vote for members of their own race regardless of party affiliation.

That would require the GOP to change their stance on Latinos over night, and act like they support the issues of the Latinos. I don't see Rubio or Rafael Cruz doing that, especially seeing they need to play to the far right just to win a primary.

While i expect the GOP will get another Presidential whupping, I won't ever say never. The Democratic party has caught a ton of freebies from the positions of the Tea Party and the far right, but those giveaways will not last forever.

I know that there are plenty of smart, determined Republican moderates are now in a fighting mood and will do everything they can to tamp down the heat their far right faction brings. The battle won't go un-noticed when it joins, either, even if the apparent swing to the moderate left proves to be true in 2016. Folks in general are very fed up with a crippled Congress; which party fails to hold what they have and attract more voters is going to lose, and that could be either party at the moment.

Nothing is a given, and over-confidence could be disastrous for either.

It's true that thy play identity politics but in this case the Democrats are offering them more so they will choose Hillary and the Democrats over Cruz or Rubio.

And we know the reason for that. Hispanics expect amnesty for their illegal amigos no matter how negatively it impacts our own citizens. I want a candidate that respects our immigration laws rather than making a mockery out of them and then panders to an ethnocentric group for votes.

The Republicans have nominated Moderates before, in 08 with McCain, in 96 with Dole, in 76 with Ford, in 40 with Wilkie.

The strategy of nominating moderates hasn't worked before for the GOP, what makes you think it will happen in 2016? Is the senior Huntsman willing to bankroll his son's campaign? Do you think he wins, if nominated?
