What do you think about him? I like what he has to say more than any other conservative that has the potential to run. He's down to earth and straight forward without the need to put on a show. That's a quality that is missing in our conservatives now and it makes me not trust them. I trust Marco Rubio. He has polished up his speaking skills quite a bit, the heart was there the entire time, though.
He's not over-evangelical either. Focusing on the family and the American dream economically, that's what I like considering myself a fiscal conservative.
Here's why I would never vote for Rubio. He is pro-amnesty.
"We have millions of people living in this country illegally, many of whom have been here for a decade or longer. We need to find a reasonable but responsible way of incorporating them into American life".
Evidently he doesn't care that Americans need the jobs they are holding and that amnesty makes a mockery out of our immigration laws.
He neglects that his parents benefitted from the fact that the wealthy used to pay a much higher percentage of the taxes. When the wealthy were paying 90% taxes, we didn't have such a high national debt and we could do a lot of things we can't do anymore. Cutting taxes for the wealthy even more isn't going to put prosperity for everyone on the table.
I wonder how many Cons would be willing to vote for a Cuban Anchor Baby?
Yeah. The whole time he was talking, I was thinking about those immigrants now who don't have the same benefits he had. Cubans have benefitted immensely from immigration laws that have favored them.
