One of these days the Repubs are going to learn that more candidates does not improve their chances of winning, pick a couple of good ones then push forward the best for the Nation to consider. Suggestion, for a change of pace, try telling the Nation what your ideas are, tells us why they are good ideas and tell us how you plan on getting them in place instead of whining about the "other guys".
Huckabee has zero chance of ever becoming President, the days of the hardcore culture warriors are over. Huckabee has offended just about every group of people with his social conservative nonsense except older, white Christians. He hates gay people and is proud to show it, he hates women - at least the ones that curse, use birth control or have jobs - so pretty much all of them. He called Beyoncé a ***** and Jay Z a pimp, so kiss any black voters goodbye. He is against immigration reform - so no Latino voters either.
Who is a member of the American Taliban like Huckabee supposed to appeal to that isn't already a locked in GOP voter?

I like to have a lot of candidates at this point in an election cycle. I want to hear everyone's ideas. The more folks who are talking about the issues, the better. Do the Dems have anyone besides Hillary (champion of the little people) running? If not, they're in trouble.
You are right that nobody wants to hear a lot of whining about the other guys. My feeling is that if all a candidate has to talk about is the other guy, he's a loser.
I don't think Christie is going to run. He's got far too much crap going on in his own state to even think that he has a chance. Bush, on the other hand, has just as good of chance as Hillary in my opinion. I think the winning ticket will be more moderate on social issues, but conservative on fiscal issues. I think that would capture the vote of many people who would otherwise vote democrat.
But it wouldn't turn out the base.
The GOP has a huge problem. 20 million or so voters, whom they must energize to have a chance at winning, are out of touch with the rest of the nation on gay marriage and the place of religion in government. The GOP can't win with them and can't win without them.

Huckabee stated during his 2007 presidential campaign that we can’t change the Bible to line up with society’s “contemporary view,” instead we “ should amend the Constitution so it’s in God’s standards.”

NO!
NO!
NO!
A THOUSAND TIMES NO!
Huckabee is dangerous. While being in the GOP means you must at least pay lip service to the evangelical agenda, Huckabee genuinely wants a theocracy and wants to completely do away with the concept of separation of church and state.
