Well, if Elizabeth Warren is not going to run, as it appears that she will not, why not New York Mayor Bill de Blasio for the far left alternative candidate? He appears to be interested in the job, if anyone is interested:
Quote:
De Blasio Seeking to be Drafted

Despite repeated claims to the contrary, Mayor Bill de Blasio is positioning himself to be the leftist “progressive” alternative to Wall Street-friendly Hillary Rodham Clinton as the Democratic candidate for president, a national party operative told The Post.

De Blasio’s hope, the operative said, is a “Draft de Blasio’’ movement will develop among progressive activists over the next several months that will lead to the mayor being able to defeat Clinton in the primary elections next year in much the same way leftist Sen. George McGovern successfully challenged the initially front-running establishment Democratic candidate, Sen. Edmund Muskie, more than 40 years ago.
So, with Elizabeth Warren off the table, and Bernie Sanders having virtually no more chance to win than Valdimir Putin himself, is De Blasio a candidate that the left would be interest in? He is so far removed from my preferences that I am reluctant to even venture a guess.

What say you, lefties?

He has left a lot of folks underwhelmed in NYC. If he cant effectively run that city, why would anyone want him running the country?

I wish these progressives ran under their own party and not the Dem party.

Let him run. Wouldn't stand a chance of winning. He would be an excellent candidate for the Republicans!!

Oh, please, please run DeBlasio!

Bill called himself a “democratic socialist” 25 years ago. He remains proud of the fact that he literally went to pick coffee beans in support of the Marxist Sandinistas during the 1980s. He and his wife honeymooned in Cuba in the 1990s, and brag about it. He co-sponsored a celebration in the New York City Council chambers in honor of Robert Mugabe, the totalitarian thug who runs Zimbabwe.

The progs love him and he is as delusional as they come. I may even contribute to his campaign as his nomination would insure a win for any Republican candidate.

He doesn't stand a snowball's chance in hell, but anything that could throw a disruption into the way of the Hildabeast's coronation is a good thing.

I don't see him running, though nothing surprises me when it comes to politics...though even if he did run, I imagine we would see him drop out fairly early on in the primaries.

You beat me to it. I can just see DeBlasio and Sanders, arm in arm, accepting the Democratic nod...that would be wonderful. Even Trump could beat that ticket.

Sadly, the only thing that would result from DeBlasio running would be people thinking "Hey, Hillary's not so bad after all."

This guy is about as completely detached from reality as anyone I have ever seen.
