Thank you for the question. Yes, damage control. I have understood, from several posters, this story is being passed around Facebook, and I have seen it being passed along on Twitter. It appears quite a few people are not checking the source nor correcting their posts or tweets.
So, just not wanting the lie to hang around if I can offer up the correction. Especially because it concerns our VETS.

Because the truth is important to some people and making sure that false information is flushed out is just something honest people do.

That logic would work if we were talking about a lie that was widely circulating like the Hillary Clinton "what does it matter" quote, but not something like this that no one has ever heard about.
