I would rather see a debate moderator who's views I know. George S. was Clinton's Press Secretary. Does anyone think he stopped being a Democrat? Dana Perino was Bush's Press Secretary. She makes no bones about being a Republican.
Dana Perino isn't interviewing anyone nor has she moderated a debate...and, does Fox News moderate any Democrat debates?

If you watched the Republican debates in 2012, you may have noticed that when a lib network was moderating, the Republican candidates got questions Democrats would be interested in. That's okay for the General Election but we're trying to pick a party candidate from the primary debates. That's what I object to. You know, we don't really care all that much about the answers the candidates give to Pre-K questions, for example. I would prefer the lib networks didn't moderate any Republican primary debates because they ask crappy lib questions plus they take questions from audience Democrats. Again, okay for general election, not okay for primaries.

Stephanopoulos never disclosed this information to viewers, even when interviewing author Peter Schweizer last month about his book "Clinton Cash," which alleges that donations to the Foundation may have influenced some of Hillary Clinton's actions as Secretary of State. In a statement to the On Media blog on Thursday, Stephanopoulos apologized and said that he should have disclosed the donations to ABC News and its viewers. On the April 26 edition of "This Week," Stephanopoulos interviewed Schweizer and challenged the author's assertions that Hillary Clinton may have committed a crime because there was a "troubling pattern" between donations to the Foundation and Clinton's actions as Secretary of State."

So he doesn't bother to mention it until he's caught. What's the big secret if he doesn't think there's a conflict of interest with his job? He should have never been allowed to interview Schweizer about the foundation. Then ABC does its nothing to see here folks, move along dance. Should this guy be allowed to 1) moderate any 2016 debates (c'mon, even O'Malley, Sanders and Webb should have a problem with this in addition to the Republicans), 2) Do any interviews at all related to possible ethical issues related to Hillary Clinton's time as Secretary of State and the Clinton Foundation?
LauraC, DO YOU THINK LIL Georgie learned the ways of HIS former Big Boss man...and woman also, i.e., the Clinton's? They ALL have specialized in Cover-Ups from Day 1....when that Crooked bunch ganged up and started Deceiving the DUMB American public...present company Not included.... in that massive ignorance and greed.

Of course and Yes, George StepAlloverUS is adept at Bias lies, hiding the facts and truth.

And that's why he fit's in so well as Anchor at the Awful Broadcasting Corporation, ABC.

The only time I watch ABC news is during the debates. If you are interviewing someone about a foundation that you give money to, you should disclose it to the audience and the person being interviewed. ABC says they should tell their boss, too. But Stephanopolous, who is getting the bucks, was supposed to be ABC's big dog for the 2016 election. So, the network isn't reacting the way one would expect.

It's up to the Republican Machine, then, to tell ABC they can't host their debate and maybe the candidates should refuse Stephanopolous interviews.

My debate problem is not really related. My debate problem is they ask "Who cares?" Democrat issue debate questions to Republican candidates meaning they do absolutely nothing for Republican voters trying to make up their minds for a primary vote because they don't ask questions on issues we care about much. Then they let Democrats call in or go on the Internet with their own "Who cares?" Democrat questions. That's why the Republican party needs to put their foot down. I'd rather have Fox News, Rush Limbaugh/Laura Ingraham, the Washington Times and the Wall Street Journal, for example, moderate Republican primary debates. The Broadcast Networks, the lib newspapers and other Cable News people can do some General Election debates.

Look, during the 2014 midterms:

"For Republicans, foreign policy, the budget deficit and immigration loom largest among issues to consider in the upcoming election, each being named “very important” by at least 70% of polled voters. In contrast, Democrats are more interested in the environment and economic inequality by a similarly wide margins."

Both were interested in the economy.

Voters Care Most About Economy, Healthcare and Terrorism

So why do we get environment and economic equality questions and war on women questions and pre-K questions in REPUBLICAN PRIMARY DEBATES by lib moderators on these Lib networks. It's a waste. We're trying to pick a Republican candidate not some Democrat!

I don't even bother to watch the Sunday shows any more, which I used to watch religiously. George Stephenopoulos is clearly a partisan. I wouldn't like it any better if ABC put Karl Rove in charge of This Week.

I am not surprised that Stephanopolous donated to Clinton Foundation. After all, he owes his career to the Clintons.

I agree that he should recuse himself from ANY reporting on their finances or campaigns.

Of course, conflicts of interest are everywhere in Washington, where any two bit politico can saddle up to the hog trough for pork, political appointments, lobbyist, or reporting/ commentary gigs. Rather revolting overall, on both sides of the aisle.

It must have been a shock to find that Little Steph has a bias in favor of the Clintons . . . My God.

I don't think this would be a surprise to anyone since he worked for Bill Clinton. Similarly I imagine at some point we will be told the shocking news that Jenna Bush Hager donated to Jeb's campaign or Chris Cuomo donated to his brothers.

That said he probably should have either handed the interview to someone else or acknowledged his long ties to the Clintons (beyond even the Foundation) at the start. While its obvious to me I can imagine someone even 5 years younger not realizing that history. I remember being surprised to find out Maria Shriver was a Kennedy while people a decade or two older thought that was blatantly obvious obvious.
