romney already has the built-in advantage of having so many of his mormon brothers and sisters in the state. the mormons are a very cohesive people and will do ANYTHING to support each other. that is a built in 6 or 7 % advantage, which gives him just the cushion that he needs to beat the others.

the groups that you mentioned are not nearly as cohesive as the mormons. this is a religion which enforces a 10% tithing of income, secret rituals and a genuine assistance to its members. the mormons stick together and will support "to the wall" any of its brothers. when i worked on gotv efforts in vegas in 04, some of the other volunteers told me about the influence of the mormons in their state, but also idaho, hawaii, wyoming, etc.
so i know without a doubt that romney was able to romp the vote due to the heavy mormon influence.

i think that he won michigan b/c of the native son appeal and that mccain made the stupid comment that the auto jobs were gone forever and not coming back. that's not something that those folks want to hear. one of my best friends is a michigander. he told me that he and his brothers ALL worked summer jobs at the auto plants; it was a way of life. i think that it was incredibly stupid of mccain to make that comment and it cost him, and all of romney's ad money didn't hurt either.

well he got more votes than all the other republicans combined.he got 51% while his closest opponent, ron paul got 14%.thats a bit more than a 6-7% advantage.i'm sure that in many states huckabee will benefit from high baptist populations,so what?romney seems to benefit from low overall turnout races but if his backers turn out and the other candidates backers dont then thats the other candidates problem

as reported on yahoo news, 50% of romney's votes were from mormons! as i said before, it's not improbable that near 100% of the mormon voting population came out to support "their boy". when you consider that he was the only one that REALLY campaigned there and the LDS telling all of their syncophants to go caucus, it's easy to see how he won, not to mention all of his media ad$. i hope that he is the eventual winner b/c he will be easy to beat as mr flip-flopney, the repub john kerry of 2008.
