Or you could have just said none, Carson has held no public office and therefore there is no voting record on how he would be as a politician.

Black Tea Partiers are revered - Allan West, Tim Scott, Herman Cain, Ben Carson and so on. It is in part because they can talk about the shortcomings of African-American culture without being labelled a racist, and also they allow the Tea Party to say that they have some diversity in their party (and therefore, they conclude, there's no racism whatsoever within the Tea Party).

Maybe they like those people because they agree with them. It has nothing to do with race, it's all about ideology.
Carson at a recent campaign stop in Little Rock, Arkansas:
“They tell you that there’s a war on women,” he said. “There is no war on women. There may be a war on what’s inside of women, but there is no war on women in this country.”
In other words, we don't care about women as a whole, only certain "inside" parts. Yeah, and we all know exactly which parts they care about.
How can someone who is purported to be so smart continue to say such stupid things?
