How do Democrats win the Hispanic vote? You know what, scratch that because Jeb doesn't need to actually win hispanics.

The question is this: How would Democrats ensure Jeb doesn't get over 40% of the Hispanic vote.?
You must have a really low opinion of Latinos if you think they can be so easily swayed by nominating somebody the right color (or with a wife the right color?). Doesn't change the fact that Republicans are THE party of racism, nativism, and xenophobia- they will make this ABUNDANTLY clear during the primary.

But I guess it's the same sort of thinking that brought guys like Herman Cain, Ben Carson, Michael Steele, etc. to relative prominence. How'd that work out for bringing in the black vote?

Republicans have this idea that since Hispanics are largely Christian and in some ways socially conservative- they're a natural constituency for the Repubs. Superficially it sounds reasonable. If you're a lily-white Republucun who's rarely ever spoken with a latino- let alone a latina . But lemme tell you- these folks have a culture, history, and world view of their own. And it's not even REMOTELY similar to old angry white teabillies.

Rethuglicans have MILES to go before most non-Cuban Latinos would even CONSIDER voting for them. And ANY concessions towards Latinos will alienate the Republican base of old white racists. That's a nice corner y'all have painted yersleves into

George W got a lot more Latino votes than the last Republican candidates and Jeb would likely get even more than George W did. I think a Jeb versus Hillary would be very favorable to Republicans.

This was way back in time ..before the radical Tea Party made the GOP whiter than it has ever been..back when even Muslim Americans voted for Bush in the majority. Those times are long gone.

As long as the Tea Party is prominent in media and politics, the GOP will keep drastically relying on the white vote because the Tea Party scares away minorities.

He passes the most important test in my book - I'd have a beer with him. Besides, if he gets stuck on a problem as president, he can always call W for help.

It's only long gone if the tea party is relevant. In a way they are but they are becoming less relevant. Instead it is garden variety conservatives who are. The tea party got creamed in 2012 and with the shutdown so the GOP knows it is poison, which is why Bush is getting the push, to shut down the conservative wing before it gains real legs.

Ugh I hate Jeb Bush. Horrible evil person from a horrible family. I'll vote for anyone running against him. I remember what a horrible president his moronic brother was, I hope others remember as well. If we have a Clinton-Bush race that tells how bad our government is.

Except she tried that act last November and nearly everyone she campaigned for lost. The "blue collar white Democrat" is practically extinct.

I doubt very much that happens, she has the votes of blacks and Hispanics, regardless of who is in the audience, do not need increase its share among whites, were not blacks who gave the victory to Obama in Virginia but the growing population of northern virginia, mostly white-collar that is working for the government or have links with services in the capital

People think that just because this or that is hispanic, or has ties to Hispanics they come out ahead ... It's not how it works, Hispanics have demands that go beyond immigration, first you have to understand that Hispanics flirt with the ideology of more state, are indoctrinated in the ideology of social justice, are conservative in their social values, but they do not want to expose, They do not care about politics, and are not flexible, always vote for the same party... It is not for nothing that Latin America is steeped in leftist governments with the support of the population, look the Mexico PRI ruled the country for 70 years .
