Really? Because same-sex marriages are taking place in Texas right now.
I got a kick out of one nice old lady clerk in Texas I saw on the news.
She said if a couple couldn't get a marriage license where they lived to "Just come on down the road, honey, and get one from me."
Texas sweet and Texas independent. Not every Texan is conservative, but those who aren't are still Texans. They do things their own way in Texas, that's for sure, and always have.
Maybe those states will succeed from the USA !!?? Both Texas and Alabama are not going to perform any same-sex marriage, ABC NEWS Reported. Time will tell. Backlash is Strong.
Those three words are the only ones you managed to write that weren't completely wrong.
Of the 254 counties in Texas, only five are now not issuing same-sex marriage licenses, and four of those have stated that they will as soon as they sort out software issues with the new licensing. And Alabama, one county is still ironing out issues in the new process, 11 are refusing to issues any marriage licenses at all, and 55 counties are marrying same-sex couples. In both Texas and Alabama, the state governments are recognizing the legality of same-sex marriages whether performed in state or out of state.
Your breathless secession fantasies had no basis in reality. The states and virtually all counties have caved like cheap suits. Too bad you were gullible enough to believe their initial empty rhetoric. Local government responses to Obergefell v. Hodges - Ballotpedia
Should republican candidates now advocate for a constitutional ban on Gay Marriage? (Reed, speech)
I can only dream. If you think 2008 and 2012 were landslides. . . . oh boy.
See here is the thing. GOP has already cornered the market on bigots who are against SSM. Taking a position to pander to the party's lowest common denominator would alienate the moderates who are, as shown by polls, overwhelming in favor of SSM. It's one thing to not give something. It's quite another to try to take away. It would be like political fury you have never seen before. Amen.
I have a feeling that the first Republican to advocate for making homosexuality a felony punishable by death, along with calling for a return of slavery, will probably lock up the GOP nomination handily.

He (or she?) will certainly poll no less than 20% in New Hampshire and Iowa at the moment and get lots of air time on Fox News (and, by default, Drudgereport, TheBlaze, infowars, newsmax, KKK chain letters......)

Someone would balk that there is no rock throwing involved.
No. And, no, they shouldn't support an amendment allowing states to ban it either.
This ship has sailed. It's time to move on.
