Let corporations do as they please sounds like heaven, but freedom comes with great responsibilities. I am not sure if I will go with total freedom at this moment.

Small government
Even though the private banks themselves charge even higher interest than federal loans? I don't think so. Btw, with a government loan, I can at least negotiate my payment unlike doing it through a private bank. I called a major private bank about a student loan. Do they help you if you get laid off? Nope, you are on your own. Also, education is not a luxury item like so many conservatives say. I honestly think it should be tuition-free. We currently put so much money in the military and useless wars that we outspend all first world countries combined. Cut it a little bit and have it go to the education system.

Margaret Thatcher? She is just as bad as Ronald Regan and his voodoo economics.

All subsidies are wrong, from gas and banking to student loans.
You think guv subsidized student loans are okay, but gas and banking aren't. That makes you the hypocrite.

What the Republicans and the Koch Brothers are very clear about...
is doing away with every single piece of legislation passed since the 1930s designed
to protect the elderly, the children, the sick, the poor, the working class families
of this country, and they do this under the guise of 'freedom."
-Senator Bernie Sanders

Bernie playing us vs them in order to justify his plunder.

P.s. I haven't seen too much evidence the GOP doing away with his beloved welfare scams.

Eddyline: just thought I would clear one thing up: most of us are not getting our views of Sanders from FOX or Faux as you like to call it: they are not covering him or anything he says to be truthful. Right now the attention is all on Hillary's problems and Trump.
I don't trust Hillary any more than I do Trump. According to the latest polls, neither does anyone else. They're neck-and-neck on the believability scale.

The magic behind the early Sanders surge is not so mysterious: what he says, invariably, is popular with the Democratic base at a time when many feel fatigued by promises of hope and change.
The things Bernie is saying now are the same things he has been saying for 30 years. Whether you like them or not, he believes that what he is saying is the truth.

Quite honestly, I would say that government loans should go away and universities should be tuition-free, but someone like you would think that it is Marxist or Communist which is why the government loans is the best we can do.
