Yes, but that has more to do with the military budget. Defense contracts can only be handed out if there is money available.

But yes, i definitely agree that the defense budget needs to be slashed.

This is also why the ACA didn't include a public option because that would have taken money away from the for profit insurance companies.

Military budget decided by defense contractors that finance their campaigns and endless wars for more contracts. It's a huge racket with American men and women told by the oligarchy to put on their uniforms to die in foreign lands.

Yeah. It's madness. And let's not forget the pharmaceutical industry

Quote:
Medicare, the federal healthcare program, is prohibited by law from haggling with makers of prescription drugs over the prices paid by its 54 million beneficiaries.

That bizarre stipulation was put in place in 2003 by the administration of former President George W. Bush. It was part of a sweeping plan for Medicare to cover prescription drugs.

Republican lawmakers, backed by the powerful pharmaceutical industry, argued at the time that the private sector was in a better position to ensure fair pricing of prescription meds.
Senator Grassley was a principal author of the 2003 law.

Quote:
Surely that had nothing to do with the almost $240,000 Grassley received from pharmaceutical interests in the 2002 election cycle, prior to his leadership role in drafting the Medicare legislation...And it's probably just a coincidence that no industry spends more lobbying lawmakers than the drug industry. From 1998 to last year, the industry shelled out more than $3 billion...
Costco-Visa deal shows why Medicare should negotiate drug prices - LA Times

People are starting to wake up. The corporate elite and the billionaire class have been robbing the American people for 40 years. Enough is enough!

I don't know how much Bernie would acheive, but I can only guess it would be more than what Hillary would do and way more than what any GOP candidate would do to curb this abuse of the American people.

Yeah, they all take bribe money from these corporations so they are in their pocket. If the people wake up to the abuse they get, and we organize and stand together to put relentless pressure on lawmakers, change can happen. As Bernie says, he can't do it alone. A grassroots movement by the middle class needs to happen, and more and more people are now directing their energy in the right direction! We need to organize like never before. Despair is not an option!

Sanders the economic ignoramus for prez!!!
Well, at least, by saying that it will speed up the economic collapse of America, you're admitting that it's an inevitability, so what difference does it make whether it happens more slowly, or faster?

No they don't. Literally not a single one of the things I mentioned had anything to do with state tax breaks. You're deflecting.
