When has a President ever debated a Senator?
It's just a silly childish challenge raised by Cruz on Hannity in a desperate move to raise his campaign profile.
Silly and childish is Cruz's stock in trade.

But his midnight rendition of the Green Eggs and Ham was EPIC.

Obama is a giant. Cruz is a gnat. Giants swat gnats.

No president would agree to this in this day and age.

But it would be good for America to see two side of an issue that is to be voted on be actually debated in a forum for Americans to listen.

If Obama thinks this deal is such a good idea then stand behind it and debate it in open in front of the American people.

Ted Cruz Challenges Obama to Debate Iran Nuclear Deal | Fox News Insider

Some things are just too good to be true. We all know Obama would never agree to this, because the man can barely string a sentence together without the aid of his teleprompters.

Did you see him in Ethiopia today make a spontaneous comment about Cruz and Trump? He sounded like he was on drugs or something.
Please provide details of a time when any sitting President has agreed to a public debate versus a Senator that is not related to their reelection campaign.

This is just ridiculous grandstanding from Cruz and the conservative media. It would be like the CEO of a major company agreeing to a public debate on a product release with a mid level marketing manager.

With Cruz polling at 4%, he might not even get a chance to debate his fellow republican contenders on Fox, so he is desperate to get out of their shadow.

Yup, he's grand standing to get attention.

I doubt most Americans wouldn't even watch it and those who did would already have their minds made up before it even began.

Looks like Ted is getting so desperate for attention that he wants to show off the rhetorical skill, theatrical gestures, and cheap tricks that marked his college debate years.

Debates were NEVER intended to settle the merits of an issue. The kind Ted excelled in were simply one more college activity, no more or less important than any other athletic, musical, or scholastic competition.

Political campaign debates (which is not what he's proposing here) aren't intended either to provide comprehensive discussion about a single issue. They are a way for candidates to promote their opinions while letting voters gauge their ability to respond to questions under pressure.

This is just one more of Ted's many knuckledragging, lamebrain grabs for attention.

Silly and childish defines the Obamabots.
Cruz would hit O'Baldfacedliar with the facts and the liar in chief would wilt.
Truth is treason to that scumbag.

You mean transparency? Wouldn't that be something?

The main reason we got transparency was when Snowden went public.
