Republican or Democrat
Who do you want to win as U.S President in the upcoming election? A republican candidate or a democrat candidate? -- Why?

Democrat.. for sure... the only republican I'd vote for would be abraham Lincoln... Reagan was a sack of crap.. that only lined the pockets of the rich...and strategically blinded people to the fact with his involvement in world affairs related to spreading democracy. made everyone feel better...him and the two bush's sucked it up big time... as far as the average american is concerned... if you like a republican.. you're either.. rich.. white...christian... because they have taken on your battle cries and interests...or made you think that they have...
to hell with all of ya... november 08 baby...we'll see...

Actually, the rich paid more (percentage-wise) in taxes under Reagan than under Carter.
The rich went from paying less than 8% of the total taxes to paying a quarter of them. For those making $20,000 and less per year, the share of taxes fell from almost 20% to 7%.
Percent paid by groups:
------------------------ 1980--------- 1988
$0-20K----------------- 19.5%------- 7.0%
20-50K------------------ 49.4--------- 30.4
50-200K----------------- 23.6--------- 38.3
200K+------------------- 7.5---------- 24.3
(Source: Internal Revenue Statistics published in Arkansas Democrat Gazette, Oct. 12, 1992)
Anyway, I am voting Republican for obvious reasons (obvious to other Republicans, that is).

I want a real Democrat that is not afraid to take on the Republicans and give them a serious smackdown.

well City Data seems to be skewed towards conservatives anyways. I consider myself a liberal and if you think Hillary is one you really don't know what a liberal is!

I'm a conservative but I would not say I'm a Republican anymore. I'm not sure what the Republican Party is thinking, but its getting away from conservative thinking.
