I mean, the prospect that such an event could actually have a positive impact.

Remember, there are secret side deals that have not been made available to Congress, so do you REALLY think it will benefit you (and the country/world) to have them vote on something of such serious nature without having full knowledge of it?

Why Those Secret Iran Side Deals Matter | RealClearPolitics

Go ahead, Mr. Trump. Shake up the system. It's long overdue.

Congress will be voting before Sept 17 they will have their say, this amounts to shouting out the window. Do you honestly expect a thoughtful analysis of the deal or any new revelations, more of the same angry rhetoric.

All of this is probably for nothing. Thus far, Obama has support of the deal from 31 Senators, and more is expected. 3 more and Obama's veto will be sustained. In fact, the Democrats are going to see if they can get 41 votes (out of 46 Democrats + Independents) to prevent cloture on the disapproval resolution and thereby kill it in the Senate. Good night.

Mick

P.S. Even if you presume Obama and Kerry are inept or corrupt, wouldn't you give credence to the deal based on the fact that your bare chested hero from Russia, as well as the leaders from China, Germany, France and UK, all voted to approve the deal? Do you know better, even though you don't have all the information and you don't have the same capacity to process the information?
Just wondering.

Most who oppose the agreement have no idea what's in it; they just don't like the idea of diplomacy over macho war. They think sending troops into the Middle East will work next time. 459th times a charm!

Surrendering to your enemies is NOT diplomacy. Did anyone on the left not learn from Neville Chamberlain??

YEAH! Why let the simple fact that we didn't give them truckloads of cash interfere with a good rant, eh?

Did anyone on the right learn the futility and lack of benefit to the US of the vast majority of our attempts at playing World Cop?

Far from true. The US has sanctions of its own that don't have to be lifted. And US sanctions have a lot of weight/hurt as smaller countries and companies don't want to run afoul of them, as doing so would harm their economies/businesses.

History MUST repeat itself again and again and many people still will not get it.
