How is it possible that such an amazing, world renowned surgeon is such a dolt? Please tell me that Carson's words were taken out of context. It seems like almost everyone who has ran for the GOP nomination over the past few cycles had to give up their brain as a condition of running.
The more Carson speaks the less impressed I am. Seriously, it seems like he is saying something stupid or offensive every time he opens his mouth.
It IS quite impressive that presumably such a great brain can be so stupid. AND the fact that he is #2 in the polls tells me something about the Republican base.

Agreed. Every day Carson is saying things that are going to make those other than the base dismiss him as a candidate who is not viable for the presidency.

There are enough signs that this country and the world are heading for big trouble.
Internally we have a largely disengaged population (I spoke to a woman in WY the other day who had no idea what I was talking about when I mentioned the refugee crisis in Europe - she had heard nothing about it and made the comment that she lives in her own little world). We have failing schools, half the population (to one extent or another) receiving hand outs from the government (effectively making them wards of the state), a significantly downsized and demoralized military, increasing racial conflict, increasing diviseness within our political system and within our civilian populations, rogue federal alphabet agencies uncontrolled illegal immigration (of largely third world citizens moving to a first world nation) and a growing-out-of-control national debt - money we owe primarily to a nation that has made aggressive moves politically and who hacks into our major computer systems with impunity.
Internationally we have a mass exodus of third world people to first world nations, a Russian president who moves aggressively and without fear of American reprisal, a questionable nuclear agreement with a terrorist state, and financially insolvent European countries.
Is the apocolyse happening? No. Not yet. But if THOSE variables listed above (and taken in totality) are not the recipe for "something" bad to happen, I don't know what is.
It's so easy to dismiss all the talk and concern as folks heading into tin foil territory. And yes........sometimes it DOES sound like folks have lost their minds on here. But there are examples in history (even within the last century of history) where the bottom completely fell out. Nobody thought it would ever happen. But it did. I'm not saying "store up on the canned goods and ammo 'cause TWAWKI is coming to an end".
But only a disengaged (or agenda driven) fool would dismiss the state of the world as it stands now and say "NEVER" gonna happen. It would behoove every American citizen to stay engaged, stay educated, watch what is happening in the world and in the country (and try to put all the chess pieces on the board together).

Neurosurgeon Ben Carson has been quite vocal in his believe that America may be headed toward anarchy. Carson even made his thoughts known on Alan Colmes’ Fox News radio show.
Despite teasing his own bid for the presidency in 2016, Carson seems to genuinely believe that the actions of the current administration could lead to civil unrest that could, in turn, lead to the cancellation of the 2016 Presidential Election altogether
While Carson's predictions are odd, he is not wrong that there is a serious level of discontent in this country. I just don't think it will progress to the level he predicts.

See the thread on Colin Powell in the P&OC forum. Every conservative there is bashing him as a RINO. He represents what the party used to be when they valued intelligence. He should follow your lead and leave the party. They don't deserve to have anyone with any intelligence still calling themselves a Republican.
