Has there been a time in history where this many candidates 0 to 3% this late in the game stay active in the campaign?
This late in the game? Holy cow, until about 10 years ago we didn't see polls until later than this and debates were not taking place almost 18 month before the election!!!! I guess you were not old enough to remember before 2000?
I actually watched the CBS Sunday Face The Nation, this morning, where this Poll was presented. I noted three fascinating things from the panel.
Even the extremely anti-Trump "journalist" Ruth Marcus, who only a month ago was a saying that Trump "lacks essential presidential qualities" and would disappear soon, was forced to eat crow and admit that Trump is here to stay. He's a force the rest will have to deal with.
The second was the astonishment that JEB isn't doing better. Some on panel, begrudgingly hold on to JEB having a comeback during the primary, but even they sounded disappointed. Admitted that Carson and others are pulling in money, in vast quantities, to counter anything that JEB might toss at them. Of course Trump doesn't need worry in this department.
Hillary has real issues as a viable candidate in the general that won't go away.
More bad news for Trump. He is stuck in a rut and the most unqualified person in the race is closing on him. Bush looks sad too. He had better get it together or Rubio is going to end up with the prize.
Agreed. Another reason I have little respect for the voters. Cain was a disgrace when it came to the economy. Two weeks before the biggest collapse since the Great Depression and he never saw it coming.

I was looking at Wikipedia in 2011 and the frequent pollsters were Rassmussen and Gallup. Now Rassmussen is hardly talked about and Gallup says they won't poll the presidential race.
This time in 2011, Herman Cain was leading in the polls.
This time is 2007, Hillary vs Giulliant seemed a sure thing.
Ok, this line is getting old. I know you are desperate, hanging to every twig and straw you can get your hands on so try something else. Cain or Bachmann NEVER led the field this long. There is no comparison.
When the delegate counts start happening, Trump won't stand a chance.
I agree. When the establishment flatly says Trump won’t be the nominee regardless of the polls they know what they are capable of. I understand somebody has to be willing to be someone's delegate, and there are many ways to dissuade them. They are not sitting in a corner waiting to be called up.
Trump or Carson may win the republican nomination but they is not gonna win the national election.
Hillary and her promiscuous husband must be thrilled with these poll results. She will probably win all states except maybe South Carolina and Alabama.
