Anyone here actually defending the double standard of the debates is either kidding themselves or being outright deceitful.

There may not be near the material, as there are but half the participants. But make no mistake, there is certainly fodder out there if CNN WANTED to conduct the debate in the same manner.

It is clear that while CNN has definitely improved a bunch over the last decade or so, they are still a left leaning network. Nowhere near as blatant as MSNBC but there's no denying that CNN doesn't have the same desire to instigate as they did for the GOP debate.

What will be interesting is how they handle themselves in the Fox-moderated Democratic debate. Should be interesting to see Megyn Kelly or some other real journalist ask some hard-ball questions.
Unfortunately, Fox doesn't get a Democratic debate. The Dems are only have 6 debates (CNN, CBS, ABC News, NBC News, Univision, and PBS).

They're too afraid of having a debate on Fox.

I was wondering if that would be the case. Why does that not surprise me? Too cowardly to actually show up where someone might just ask something other than slow-pitch questions. Honestly, the Rs should do the same and stick with Fox. Not that they were much better about being neutral

Bwahahahaha! Hell no, CNN will not treat the Democrats the same as they did the Republicans. What an absurd suggestion.

Clearly these people are in the tank for the Democrats, and we can all expect the handling of this debate to reflect that quite brazenly.

I'd like to know why this doesn't bother more people. At least act like you're interested in getting to know the candidates a little better than those lovely TV ads (which I would pay extra for cable to NOT see).

Let's get real. The only reason the attacks got personal in the GOP debates is because CNN and Fox wanted high ratings, even higher than they'd get from Trump's mere presence. Since he isn't at the debate, they probably won't go down that route (at least not as much) because they expect the ratings to be lower anyways.

So far Hillary Clinton has been the frontrunner, and she's the one inclined to eat her own when she's backed in a corner. Don't forget it was Hillary who questioned whether Obama was born in the United States, and it was Hillary who brought up the fact that Obama spent 20 years in Rev. Wright's church. She's also the one who questioned his association with Bill Ayres, a known domestic terrorist.

If she felt threatened by any of the other candidates, I'm sure she'd be the first to get nasty.
