And clearly, all of this has to do with their tax structure, right? NOT..

Care to actually discuss what I said? Which is that their COST OF LIVING is 40% or more higher than ours as a result? How do you think people will afford housing, and food, if you raise the prices 40%?

And as the number of citizens we have, vs there, and their $9K per year more in federal expenditures, where are you coming up with the $2.7 TRILLION dollars a year, to equal spending to what Switzerland spends?

Bernie wants Wall Street to pay for college educations. This is but one example of why they owe this to our country. Not only does Wall Street benefit from research and breakthroughs at Universities, but they steal from our Universities.

Actually Sanders whats YOU AND I to pay for them through a stock transaction tax. Corporations would be able to offset this cost on their taxes because it would reduce their net revenues on one side of the spreadsheet, thereby reducing their profit, and ultimately their tax liabilities on the other.

Do you guys even file taxes?

It actually makes sense, an Associate's Degree, and even a Bachelor's Degree is the equivalent of what a High School Diploma use to be. With that in mind, it makes sense that public college education for in-state students should be free, just like it is free for any one of us to get a public High School Diploma.

That ridiculous excuse doesn't cut it anymore.

Wall Street benefits from the research and inventions at universities. Funding education is an investment that will pay off on Wall Street with yet more research, inventions, and breakthroughs. It is a win-win for all involved.

Hoarding money is not investing in the future.

Oh please..how would a 1/4 of 1% transaction fee hurt you? How many stock trades do you make in a year? It would hurt the people who should be hurt by it the HFT who destroy trading for traditional investors.

Its YOU who has no clue.. Because HFT trades wouldn't stop, they would just build the "tax" into the calculations and then only conduct a transaction if the profit was still present. If not, they WOULDNT CONDUCT a trade, and thus YOU WOULDNT GET TAX REVENUES from a NON EXISTANT TRADE..
I don't have a clue..ok I expect that from you, but read the sources that I posted, they aren't exactly from Huffington post. It would have NO significant impact on traditional investors. Do you work for a trading firm?

Haha right. So why arbitrarily pick Wall Street to impose this tax on? Why not Hollywood, or professional sports? Or public sector pensions? Ohh right, the Wall Street bail out? Such as tarp that cost the taxpayers nothing? Why not tax each car made, since the gov't bailed out the unions and GM, losing billions doing so?

Country comparison Switzerland vs United States 2015 | countryeconomy.com
%= % of budget

Education Expenditure- Switzerland 16.10%, USA-12.91%
The Swiss spend 3.19% more on education than America.

Defense/Defence Expenditure- Switzerland 2.02%, USA 9.80%

America spends more on national defense than the next 11 most powerful countries combined. America could reduce its defense spending and pay for education like Switzerland.

The Swiss do spend (slightly) more on things like education and healthcare, but if America's defense spending was reduced we could easily spend more in those other areas with our current budget.
