Marco Rubio was considered for Romney's VP and was eliminated after vetting. Rubio has a LOT of baggage for such a young man. His fresh faced Wally Cleaver persona hides a lot of his faults, which will certainly come out.
I know anyone who supports Disney's decision to fire their American tech workers, force them to train foreign workers under threat of losing severance pay, and replace those Americans with foreigners like Rubio did is not anyone I can support. Never mind the fact of his appropriation of campaign funds for vacations, meals, home improvements, entertainment, etc. and real estate venture with a politician voted "most corrupt". Plus, anyone who relies on a benefactor for living expenses and employment for their spouse while making a senator's pay doesn't deserve to control our country's finances.
Just because he memorizes his retorts and can spit them out quickly does not make him presidential.
Going after Rubio and using his attendance as an excuse has proven to be a big mistake. Not only are his poll numbers up, but donors are beginning to become convinced that Rubio is the right guy.

Part of the reason the left is failing so grandly is the way Rubio handled Jeb, when Jeb tried to attack Rubio. Now, Harry Reid, who has no credibility with any reasonable person, has chimed in.
The whole thing is lame. People are just not a stupid as the left thinks.
Rubio's ideas are so young and fresh and geared to the struggling middle class that's he's now getting major funding from a 71 year old hedge fund billionaire.
Now that's he's a lapdog to an aging billionaire, he'll probably miss even more votes.

Maybe the Sentinel didn't like nutjob Palin as McCain's runningmate, leaving voters (like myself) with no choice but to go Obama.
Isn't it interesting that "missed votes" were no problem for candidates before Rubio, when everyone should remember that this happens often when Senators run for President - it sad that it takes the British Press to actually do a little Fact Checking. When was the last time that anyone saw a "serious" vote in the US Senate? Anytime they consider a "serious issue" - Obama starts issuing his VETO threats and nothing gets done as the Democrats fall into line line little ants behind their fearless leader.

It may seem like a strike against him, but it is actually a very smart move by the Rubio campaign. He already learned how difficult it is to explain a wrong vote when he was on the wrong side of immigration reform. If it was not for his earlier stance on immigration, he would have the lead now, not Trump. It is much easier to explain a missed vote than a wrong vote that goes against the base. Had he placed the 59 votes that he missed during his campaign it is likely that at least a few would have upset the base and could have been used against him. This is not about lack of time to campaign, as Rand Paul and Bernie Sanders have missed less than 10 votes. It is a brilliant political move that worked for Obama in 2008 and it looks like it will work for Rubio in 2016.
The way that Rubio admitted to Jeb during the debate that he did not do his job, but neither did Obama, or McCain, or Kerry is pure genius.

I don't mind him missing votes. That's the consequence of running for president. What bothers me is what he said and his misgivings about being a Senator. What happens if we elect him prez and he ends up not liking the job?
Yep - oh by the way, he was missing votes at a high number BEFORE his campaign even started, so how do anyone excuse that?
