There have been a few polls out the last couple days showing Carson edging out Trump in Iowa, but this is the first I have seen of him doing it on a national scale. It looks like the Republican love affair with the TV star turned candidate could be coming to an end. I admit to being shocked that the new leader is someone even less qualified than Trump, but this is the Republican primary where these sort of things do happen historically. This will be a good test of Trump's commitment. How will he react to being second? Will he is part with his money to put ads out there?

Yeah, Trump's stump speech will have to be changed from Its Amazing that I'm Leading to Des Moines Register sucks.

To be honest, heard recently on national news that nearly 50% of the voters are still undecided....and rarely do you see any polls show the undecideds in the results published.

Watching Trump react to this is going to be fun. We're gonna need a lot more popcorn.

LOL, freakin' Carson.

I understand the appeal that he is mostly grassroots funded but come on. His policies are off the rails and to be honest I dont really see much difference between his policies and the policies of the Koch brothers. There is nothing really in his stances that suggest that the corporate elite wont get behind him.

Insults will start flying....only thing I've heard Trump say about Carson was that his jobs plan/hiring experience involved Carson being responsible for having a nurse on his staff while Trump had thousands on his employment books.

The positive thing for Trump is that Carson's positions make Herman Cain look like a genius. So Carson should be easy to take down on the basis of policy alone. Insults probably won't work as well as just pointing out how ridiculous Carson's ideas are.

What has happened to the party of Lincoln where the two top candidates are completely unsuited for the presidency?

This is nothing more than a repeat of the last election when we had nutters and unqualified hacks like Bachmann and Cain leading in the polls.

This is the new normal for the GOP - the insane base comes along and backs the nut of the week, then the adults swoop in and stop the party from choosing someone who will lose every state outside the deep south.
