Did you watch the end of the video I posted? We're very close to having federal employess and their family and possibly one or two close friends outnumber everyone else. They'd never vote to eliminate their cushy jobs, perks, and salaries.

Yes. What's being defended by federal employees and their family and friends is retaining the status quo of their cushy federal jobs and salaries, not necessarily individual political party beliefs or loyalty.
