Actually he was counting on it. But unlike The King, the Bush/Rovian political engine has lost 2 elections and lacked the same influence to prevent competition.

Fascinating that old G H Bush is prone to throw things at the TV when Trump is on it. LOL.

Waldo, thanks for the thread; I think it is informative and interesting to anyone who is following the Bush campaign for the GOP nomination. To many of us the writing on the wall seems pretty obvious as far as JEB is concerned.

Honestly I don't see him dropping out just yet ... not before the first caucus anyway. I imagine he hoping something dramatic will happen in the next 90 days: someone will falter, someone will drop out, anything where he can pick up a few percentage points and get in the double digits.
