Why do we need the networks to stage our primary debate? (interviews, security)

Our candidates are being abused, insulted and tormented by “moderators” who were actually debating the candidates last night. They jumped in the ring themselves. Unbelievable! To add insult to injury, their network makes millions. Why are we doing this? Here is my plan. Book an auditorium, invite your own interviewers then SELL time to the networks. Not only they won’t get rich off of us, they have to actually pay. And they will.
I would like to see that happen. I was hoping last night to see some real insight into where the candidates stood on economic issues. I wasn't interested in Fantasy Football or who said what about someone else.

Sounds like a campaign ad, not a debate.
And networks don't buy ads from candidates. The candidates buy the space from the networks.
The OP format may be an improvement but honestly it shouldn't be that hard to have a proper debate. The moderator questions should be much simpler and not directed at specific candidates. Example: "Candidates, what are your thoughts on social security?" and then let each say their piece. But of course that doesn't generate as many headlines and viral videos (AKA ratings & advertising revenue) so instead we are stuck with the existing situation.

Fair enough but as long as they are in charge it is not gonna happen. And to the point that networks don’t buy ads, well that’s how it is structured right now. Why should they pay? They own the event. How are sports events televised and who gets paid. NBC pays big bucks to the NFL for the right to televise the game and they don’t get to call the plays. This is exactly what Trump says about the power of negotiations and how to use it. We are putting up a show that is guaranteed to draw 15 million people. They’ll gladly pay. Just as Mexico will pay for the wall.

Excellent comment !!! The RNC is not winning. They have to change and they are going in that direction now but what they will do is not clear yet. With less than two weeks until the next debate they don't have much time to make improvements.
the fantasy football question had a big picture about government intervention in commercial enterprises.....CNBC is a Business Channel. Anyone who watches CEOs get interrogated on the channel almost daily recognize that these are the question that CNBC and FAUX Business Channel ask on their interviews.....Former CEO Fiorina knows all about this and after the last debate said she wished the debate was 3 hrs or longer .....no whining on her part.

The networks do not own the airwaves. They are obligated by charter to provide airtime for public service events like presidential debates. The RNC should pick its own moderators. The candidates at this point are interviewing to represent the RNC in the election. THEY should be able to control who asks the questions and what questions are asked. The network should be relegated to only covering the event, not running it.
the MSM is the propaganda mouthpiece so it just seems natural that they organize and host these debates.
