What a shame that he traded in a distinguished career to become a laughingstock on the order of Sarah Palin.

Now that we know he's a fraud, you think Trump gets his voters?

If True then.......

Stick Carson with a fork because he is done too. He will join JEB in the losers, better to get out of the race, circle.
How is that a lie. He never applied, so he was not accepted. He never said he was accepted. I will admit that his embellishment of this anecdote has diminished my respect for Carson, but the fact of the matter is, he did not lie, he embellished the truth by misleading the reader to an assumption that was not true. Not defending him in the least. I'm glad he owned up to him mistake, but the media is mischaracterizing this whole thing for the sole purpose of derailing Carson's campaign.

Politico changes headline and lead on Ben Carson piece — removes line that his campaign admitted to "fabrication":

Exclusive: Carson claimed West Point 'scholarship' but never applied

So, it appears that Politico is walking this back now.

In other words, this was just another leftist smear piece against a black man who dared to put himself forward as a Conservative Republican leader, which of course the Democrats and the left have shown no willingness to tolerate, at all, ever.

I disagree with your characterization, but I think that Rubio and Cruz will likely benefit should Carson get out of the race.

The REAL lie here is Politico saying he APPLIED AND GOT ACCEPTED!
Dr Carson wasn't offered anything. Since West Point doesn't charge students they wouldn't have offered him a scholarship at all.

Are SDA's Evangelical? I'm not of the Christian faith, so I really don't know the answer to that.

Why would you go to West Point if you were a top ROTC graduate? You receive your a commission as a LT in the Army anyway, so what would be the reason to do so? Or was this high school ROTC (does that still exist?)?

The general couldn't offer him anything. Its a long process to be selected and admitted to any of the service academies. And the age/physical requirements are very strict, doesn't matter who you are, top ROTC graduate or not, don't meet those you don't go.

He allowed his campaign staff to speak for him. If his campaign staff lied, he has surely had enough time now to issue a correction, in his own words. He hasn't.
