How is that a lie. He never applied, so he was not accepted. He never said he was accepted. I will admit that his embellishment of this anecdote has diminished my respect for Carson, but the fact of the matter is, he did not lie, he embellished the truth by misleading the reader to an assumption that was not true. Not defending him in the least. I'm glad he owned up to him mistake, but the media is mischaracterizing this whole thing for the sole purpose of derailing Carson's campaign.
"his embellishment of this anecdote" = I'm a liar (are you sure you are not a Clintonite?)
Doesn't matter how clever he was in spinning the words. This will sink him.
Dr Stabby embellished the story about meeting Westmoreland and getting an offer to satisfy his need for self-aggrandizement. The guy has some form of psychosis and all this attention is just just propellig him to a complete detachment form reality.
But you have no idea what book it is in. You don't even know if it is in the book you posted. I do, in fact KNOW it is in the one I mentioned because THAT is the book it came from!
I haven't been paying much attention to this. However, if this stuff is just hearsay, then it shows how much many will put Dr Carson through. If everything being mentioned about him being a liar is true, I have a sinking feeling this will be it for Black Republicans. There are already people saying that the Republican party should not even try when it comes to the Black population
So, it appears that Politico is walking this back now.
In other words, this was just another leftist smear piece against a black man who dared to put himself forward as a Conservative Republican leader, which of course the Democrats and the left have shown no willingness to tolerate, at all, ever.
You have to read the excerpt from the book to see that he claims more than once to have been offered a scholarship to West Point, even though he was never nominated. This wasnt just some misunderstanding from a conversation, this is a falsehood put in print and repeated many times.
