I agree and I like Rubio. But there is a ferocious passion for change in the GOP. If the so-called elite of the GOP actively attempt to derail Trump or Carson voters could lose all faith in the GOP.

Here's an excellent article on the populist's race versus the politician's race going on in the GOP. Why GOP elites are totally ignoring a political reality that could destroy their party

The same thing happened in 1964, a non-traditional, radical GOP candidate got the nomination and lost nearly every state in the general election. So go ahead, nominate Trump, Carson or Cruz.

That's a ridiculous comparison. Goldwater ran against an incumbent, the economy was good and the media hated him. Trump is a genius at manipulating the media, the economy is horrendous and Biden, the Obama-lite candidate isn't running.

So then they can leave. We need to expel the bigots, the wackos, the Bible thumpers, and the conspiracy theorists. If it means we lose 2016 and 2020 so be it ... but we will be able to build a winning coalition including minorities by the mid 2020s.

We're going to have to expel the crazies eventually, might as well do it now.

that's not correct......millions of white Americans stayed home.........more than 55 million voters stayed home in 2012. Obama only won by 5 million votes and Hillary isn't Obama. Her negatives are too high.

the Republican Party doesn't need to sellout on amnesty to win.....if most Latinos can't understand the difference between LEGAL IMMIGRATION vs ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION and the RULE of LAW then they can keep voting Democrat and live in the shadows as 3rd class citizens living in communities with high unemployment, high crimes and a sh!tty economy.

Amnesty is not going to pass even if Hillary Clinton is President, it will never pass congress.

So if Latinos want to keep being use by the Democrat Party while the Latino Communities keep degrading keeping millions of them in bad situations from crime, security and the economy let them continue giving their votes for granted to the Democrat Party.

But what do you consider a crazy? A Tea Partier? A Trump or Carson voter? Someone who opposes amnesty or Obamacare? I never thought the Democrats would be so captivated by Obama's nonsensical SJW nonsense, yet look at the mess our society and our universities are in now. Are they crazies? Trump and Carson are just the political pendulum swinging the other way.

I am beginning to think the GOP doesn't really care about the Presidency any more...

Here's a factually based article by Myra Adams of Red State (not exactly a liberal source) on what type of white margin the GOP would need to win without increasing their minority share. She includes a link from Sean Trende (probably the most prominent Republican statistician) with an interactive map that's pretty interesting.

GOP Nominee Needs 64 percent of the White Vote and 30 percent of the Non-White Vote to Win in '16 | RedState

Continuing to try to win solely with white voters is a statistically doomed strategy.

Maybe this is what the GPO needs; to get it out of it's system. Let the unhappy base nominate Trump or Carson or Cruz and lose in the general election and get it over with. The worst part is then there would be 4 years of crying, whining and complaining about the MSM, low information voter, etc, giving the victory to Hillary.
