He's been stuck in single digits in the polls for months, and now even his Republican colleagues have had enough of him and are shutting him down.

"On Monday night, Cruz’s colleagues ignored his attempt to disrupt Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell’s efforts to fund the government without attacking Planned Parenthood. In an unusual rebuke, even fellow Republicans denied him a “sufficient second” that would have allowed him a roll call vote."

Ted Cruz 2016: GOP rebuke - POLITICO

When he tried to call for a voice vote his fellow Republicans shouted him down. Glad to see that Republicans are starting to see Cruz for what he is. Let's hope that sanity prevails in the House as well from his Tea Party cohorts continued attempts to shut the government down.

Cruz is a religious zealot who refuses to compromise and a very smart man who is really stupid.

I had two issues with him: (1) his stand on illegal immigration (2) going out on a limb, IMO, to support that KY county clerk. I think the state or her county needed to attend to that and I would not have risked hanging myself to support her especially after learning that she would not allow other clerks to issue the licenses. I can see her point and I believe in accommodating when necessary but forcing your beliefs on others on the job unless it is a religious institution, I just cannot support that. Been there actually and it was a government workplace but so long enough ago that I didn't realize how wrong it really was.

Cruz isn't the perfect candidate but he's 50 times smarter than the community organizer and he will actually defend the Constitution.

Community organizer? Seeing Cruz is nothing more than a glorified legal clerk, I would rather take a proven president over Cruz....as well as most right wing voters who aren't supporting Cruz in the primaries.

Call me old fashioned, but you shouldn't be making up quotes. Here is what Alan Dershowitz actually said:

Quote:
Cruz “was an outstanding student in my class,” Dershowitz said. “Without a doubt he is among the smartest students I’ve ever had… I’ve had great students but he has to be at the top of anyone’s short list, in terms of raw brain power.”
Dershowitz: Ted Cruz one of Harvard Law's smartest students | The Daily Caller

There is no need to make anything up. Raffy's academic achievements are very impressive without embellishment.

Oh, 50 times? They both graduated from Harvard Law School magna cu.m laude and on Law Review. Exact same thing. Oh, actually Obama was also elected President of Law Review but Raffy wasn't. It makes sense since other law students probably did not appreciate Raffy's a-hole personality.

Professor Laurence Tribe, the consensus foremost expert on Constitutional Law (the guy who literally wrote the textbook on Con Law), said that Obama was the best student that he ever had.

Similarly, Professor Alan Dershowitz has professed his love for Raffy, as I mentioned above.

50 times? Hahahah.

Cruz wanted a roll call vote. Of course his coward colleagues did not want to have their vote be so transparent - afraid as usual of incurring the ire of their constituents. As Cruz told them "When you are breaking the commitment you’ve made to the men and women who elected you, the most painful thing in the world is accountability.” That about sums it up.
