“The Middle East was better off with Saddam Hussein and Muammar Gaddafi in power.”
Those words are from Republican presidential candidate and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz.
But is he right? What do the numbers show in the years since the Iraq war?
Quote:
Well, without question the senator is correct. The Middle East was without question a safer and more secure place under Gaddafi, Hussein and when Assad wasn’t fighting for his life. But to really get that point, here are some numbers to consider.
According to reports from our own U.S. government, reports of deaths from terrorism in the Middle East between 2002 and 2014 have increased 4,500 percent.
But lets go a little deeper. Take for instance just the country of Iraq. Before the 2003 U.S. invasion, do you know how many suicide attacks there were in Iraq? None. In the country’s history there had never been one. But since the 2003 invasion, there have been 1,892.
I doubt he understand the war. Cruz doesn't even know what carpet bombing is.
Oh, please!!!!!
You are aware, aren't you, that Ted Cruz is a highly skilled and successful attorney, who has argued cases before the Supreme Court of the United States? He isn't any dummy.
And who cares, even if he doesn't (didn't) know what "carpet bombing" is (if it's true). I didn't either, till I "Googled" it one day. I had heard the term many times, but wasn't exactly sure what it meant.
BIG DEAL!
Let me remind you that Obama thinks there are 57 states, mispronounced "corps" as "corpse," and there are probably hundreds of other examples of Obama stupidity.
I agree; but you cannot bring back the dead!! We had Hussein 'contained' and he had absolute control over his people + he hated Iran. Only a stupid, younger Bush, could make such a irrational mistake to take us into war a second time.
Not impressed--a five year old could tell you that Bush's presidency was an enormous failure.
He didn't just condemn Bush's actions in case you missed it. You didn't though.
