No suprise on the GOP end. Iwoa always picks some religious nut and ultimate loser. I am glad to see Bernie giving Clinton a run for her money though.
I'm surprised Rubio and Sanders did as well as they did. No surprise on Trump and Cruz, though TV's talking heads are having fun portraying Trump as a big loser humiliated by Cruz. There's a revenge factor with the media this morning with Trump, also astonishment Cruz did as well as he did.
They way I see it. It's a lost for Hillary and a huge win for Bernie. He didn't need to win but he tied a political machine. He was 20+ points behind her 5 months ago and today is statically tied.
I'll never vote for him but everyone has to admit he is creating a fire in the belly. Iowa is not the end all be all.
His message is getting out and I think even Democrats are tired of being lite Republicans like the Clintons. That or it is because of Hillary and the backlash against her.
Trump is leading in Florida by 40% more than in any other state. That says a lot when you consider that Florida has a former Governor in the race as well as a current Senator.
Florida polls are going to change a lot now that Trump is a loser in Iowa. Rubio is going to skyrocket in Florida. Trump's poll numbers are going down in all future states due to him being a 'loser'.
Expectations were for Trump to win Iowa and he lost. Trump's comments about being on top always will make it even worse in future states. Being #1 is one of Trump's main talking points and now he's a loser.
Too bad Trump came in 2nd instead of 3rd. It would have been awesome to see Rubio beat Trump in Iowa. But still, it's great that Trump got thumped by Cruz.
So basically, either Bernie Sanders, Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump, Ted Cruz, or Marco Rubio will be the next President of the United States, we're all screwed!
calling Iowa for Cruz is not putting a flag on the moon.......Cruz is the best preacher out of that group.....look at the past winners....Huckabee and Santorum.
it was going to come down to Cruz or Trump...that's 50-50 there.
Just like next week, Trump will win N.H. and the question is who is going to come 2nd and 3rd.
I agree with you, but many people on this forum and most in the media did not call that right. I figured that Cruz worked his tail off in Iowa doing what winners there have done - retail politics. He took a page (well the whole thing, actually) from Obama's playbook and it paid off. That should tell you that Cruz is a savvy campaigner. He is going to get a boatload of dark money for his efforts and who knows, he might end up the winner. On the other hand, the GOPe hates him - really hates him - and now has a shining, if very flawed star in Rubio. The plot thickens on the Republican side.
Clinton definitely needs to worry, particularly if the demos hold as noted below:
"Six in 10 Democratic caucus-goers wanted a candidate who would continue Obama's policies. Young voters overwhelmingly backed Sanders, with more than 8 in 10 caucus-goers under the age or 30 backing the Vermont senator. Clinton won the majority of voters over age 45."
Maybe but they are pretty much Anti-Hillary right now. I can see many switching over to Trump if he's the R candidate.
Those young Millennials appear to trust her the least. She represents the old Washington establishment more than any candidate.
Nonsense. Bernie Sanders followers love Bernie Sanders, the anti-hillary crowd is mostly republican. They will never switch to loser Trump who keeps pandering to evangelicals, that is silly.
