Of course he wasn't stopped. He said from the day he was defeated or a week or so later, his political career had come to an end. I am not a fan of Romney, but I do believe he gave it his all and is very happy to live his life in retirement at this stage. For anyone to claim he was stopped is nuts!!!
Agreed. 2012 was Romney's best shot, and he fell well short. That said, I would take a President Romney over a President Trump or a President Cruz in a heartbeat.

Too bad, but you've practically guaranteed President Trump or President Cruz by voting for Obama in 2012.

hey, you are the lib here and I the conservative and we agree about that. I can not imagine myself pushing the button for Trump. I just don't think I can: I am not quite as opposed to Cruz, but almost. If he were the nominee I think I would end up voting for him, but would gladly support Romney over him.
Jeb is a little A-HOLE, when Romney ran in 2012, none of the Bushes especially Jeb came out to support Mitt Romney because of his SELF DEPORTATION proposals. Jeb Bush is an OPEN border Republican for amnesty and took shots at Mitt Romney self deportation proposals.
Gaining the support and endorsement of any Bush, at the time, would have been political suicide for any Republican presidential candidate. Just four years prior, the economy had tanked and we became a nation under debt from George W. Why would the party wanna remind voters of that?
I like Romney. I did not support him in 12 because Obama deserved a second term. But this time, I would vote for him over all the candidates from both parties. He is clearly head and shoulders above anyone in that bunch.
Its funny you said that because while I voted for Obama in 2008, I changed to Romney in 2012 because I thought Obama did NOT deserve a second term. Obama has proven to a good public speaker but a lousy and inexperienced President.
I was thinking that this story had to be from 5-6 months ago. Romney just now realizes this?
I don't think it's so much of a case of "Romney just now notices" as it is a case of "It's safe to assume Jeb! is done with no path to victory, and the establishment is going to start to pressure the also-rans to drop out and concentrate support on Rubio."
Bush doesn't really have a lot more support than Christie does right now, but his PAC is still sitting on tens of millions of dollars that the establishment really would like to use elsewhere.
