Agreed. 2012 was Romney's best shot, and he fell well short. That said, I would take a President Romney over a President Trump or a President Cruz in a heartbeat.

Too bad, but you've practically guaranteed President Trump or President Cruz by voting for Obama in 2012.

Good job!

hey, you are the lib here and I the conservative and we agree about that. I can not imagine myself pushing the button for Trump. I just don't think I can: I am not quite as opposed to Cruz, but almost. If he were the nominee I think I would end up voting for him, but would gladly support Romney over him.

Gaining the support and endorsement of any Bush, at the time, would have been political suicide for any Republican presidential candidate. Just four years prior, the economy had tanked and we became a nation under debt from George W. Why would the party wanna remind voters of that?

Its funny you said that because while I voted for Obama in 2008, I changed to Romney in 2012 because I thought Obama did NOT deserve a second term. Obama has proven to a good public speaker but a lousy and inexperienced President.

I was thinking that this story had to be from 5-6 months ago. Romney just now realizes this?

I don't think it's so much of a case of "Romney just now notices" as it is a case of "It's safe to assume Jeb! is done with no path to victory, and the establishment is going to start to pressure the also-rans to drop out and concentrate support on Rubio."

Bush doesn't really have a lot more support than Christie does right now, but his PAC is still sitting on tens of millions of dollars that the establishment really would like to use elsewhere.
