If you are in the highest tax bracket, you are not paying enough. Not even close, and you haven't been for decades. And you can bet your last dollar America isn't going to be voting in a president to hand the 1% more privileges so they can squander more of our livelihoods while poverty in America skyrockets and middle class incomes stagnate and shrink.
The ultra-rich can hide their incomes in capital gains and dividends. The "merely" rich pay the highest effective rates, i.e. those making $500K-2 mill a year in W-2 income

Trump himself has stated he will be taxing capital gains and dividends huge if he is elected. All democrats will be targeting them in the future as well.

Yep the taxes are not on the rich, they are to limit who becomes rich so the truly rich maintain their power.

So the roughly 25 million or so sole proprietor small business owners and those reduced to working 30 hours a week in order to avoid having benefits provided can just bite it because evidently you're covered, which is apparently all that matters to you...?? Think again.

A significant number of people still remain uninsured despite Obamacare/ACA. In addition, premiums have been skyrocketing, especially for those buying through the exchanges.

That is because republican governors blocked medicaid expansion.

Nope, that's because the ACA did not tackle the high and opaque costs of healthcare. There is no price transparency in healthcare at all. None.

The governors who chose to not expand medicaid astutely realized that the government wasn't going to pay for the whole thing forever.

And Republicans proposed what idea to fix this exactly? All Republicans have done on the healthcare issue is do everything in their power to keep more people uninsured and do nothing to control costs. Donald Trump, or any Republican running for president, should know well enough that demonizing the affordable care act and threatening repeal, when dozens of millions of Americans rely on it for their health insurance, is political suicide.

It *should be* political suicide, but I think you give too much credit to the american voter. The ACA is similar to republican solutions like the one they proposed against Hillary in '93, and romneycare. But If Obama backed a proven cure to cancer, republicans would denounce it. The republicans go by the old saying: "If you repeat a lie often enough, people will believe it".

Hardline liberals denounce Obama for not going for single payer. But as the President points out, the last thing we needed after the financial crisis was the termination of the health insurance industry. Maybe we can evolve to that termination (hey, we're evolving to the termination of the tobacco industry), but it will take time.
