For me, it's not that he takes the money. While I prefer the independent oil and gas companies, I'm certainly not against the industry, quite the opposite. It's his "poor me I'm fighting all these big shots" narrative. He'll claim an opponent is owned by a financial institution or wealthy donor. Most of the time that opponent isn't getting near the funding he is. It reminds me of a kid tattling in order to cover his own tracks. He's not thinking of others, or "the people", he's only thinking of himself. (He's getting more from the financial industry than he is the oil and gas donors, btw).
