This post was fantastic....
however, didn't Cruz (and I'm not a Cruz supporter) call out the monitors for trying to get all the other candidates to talk Trump down and the people booed him? Not sure now, as I was 1/2 asleep but could have sworn they showed that on the news this morning. I taped the Debate and intend to watch it tonight.
They booed him for pointing out that the panelist/moderators were ambushing him. They wanted to call it whining, and the Rand Paul groupies piled on it with the boos. He was trying to make a joke while pointing it out, and it really fell flat as Chris Wallace stepped on his punchline. It won't hurt him, but it was bad timing. After that, they shut Cruz out for around 30 to 40 minutes. Fox News' job, or what they planned to do, last night was to try to end Ted Cruz's campaign, but he stayed presidential.
So, from what I have read, Cruz is now finished and Rubio is now up for scrutiny? Then, I assume they will try to take out Rubio on their pursuit of Bush for the nominee.
I must say, after watching this cast of rabble rousers, demagogues and religious hucksters on the same stage together, even a neoconservative like Bush is starting to look good.
The days of intellectualism in the GOP must have died with George Walker Bush, because they have not been seen since his father was President.
Paul Declares He Is Only Candidate For The ‘Liberty Vote’ - Commanding Debate performance from the Libertarian Senator
Rand is far and away the most intelligent and honest candidate.
Most accounts from last night’s GOP debate, the official one, not the Trump one, had Rand Paul down as the winner, including TIME, declaring “Paul took full advantage of his primetime slot.”
Paul is old news. Apparently he didn't get the memo that most of his old followers didn't subscribe to his ideals, they just wanted to latch onto any old anti-establishment candidate, and most of them ran for the hills towards Trump, the opposite of Rand. Trump is proof that a growing number of Republicans want anyone who is anti-liberal, and wouldn't mind using big government to get what they want
I've noted it before and will again. Rand blew it when he didn't raise his hand along with Trump in the first election. He completely missed the mood of the public.
If he had raised his hand he would be in the position Cruz is in right now. Trump/Paul would have been a really strong anti-establishment power.
Paul is funded by the Koch brothers. He's a lackey.
Paul and Sanders overlap in a lot of important areas. The wars, spying, Wall Street, the Fed.
