They may have been abandoned by the establishment but have no idea how much mmore they'll suffer under Sander's policies if enacted.
He's running on the same platform as FDR and Truman. Two of the most popular presidents America has ever had. The policies are fine. Remember, even Eisenhower was accused by the right wing special interests and their mouthpieces of turning the country into a communist country. Dont believe a word of it.
Remember what FDR said in 1936:
Quote:
These economic royalists complain that we seek to overthrow the institutions of America. What they really complain of is that we seek to take away their power. Our allegiance to American institutions requires the overthrow of this kind of power. In vain they seek to hide behind the flag and the Constitution. In their blindness they forget what the flag and the Constitution stand for. Now, as always, they stand for democracy, not tyranny; for freedom, not subjection; and against a dictatorship by mob rule and the over-privileged alike.

I agree with this. Middle class earners making more than 75k a year will pay and pay and pay under a Sanders administration. Young earners might be suffering a myopic inability to recognize that they will fall into this bracket themselves sooner rather than later once job security, second incomes from spouses, etc. come into play. They'll pay the price for their "I want it all now" attitude that drives their decision at the poll this year.
well, I grew up in an upper middle class neighborhood, I'd say 90% are white.
I think the great success of the upper middle class today is that they(we) get to live in a separate world of well-manicured neighborhoods with great schools, intact families, and cultural confidence.
The vast middle of the middle fears that unless you’re on the way up, you’re on the way down.
Let's face it, both party establishments have lost white middle class or middle class in general.
Sanders appeals to the strong desire that the white middle class has to recover its central role in the national project. While he attracts support from a wealthier stratum of the middle class than Trump, the appeal is the same.
