IF (and that's a really big if) the draft were to be reinstated, I think it should include both males and females. Whether or not females serve in front line/combat would be determined by their abilities. There are many positions in our military that can suit both sexes.
I agree.
It is extremely unlikely that a draft will be reinstated but at the very least young women should be be required to register just like their male counterparts.

IF you believe that's the case I guess we should start flying airliners into public buildings and beheading innocent people for no good reason too, eh?
If we want to be like our enemies, why fight them? We'll be just like them.
Woman should have been drafted since day one!
Not saying into combat roles, but I hope people realize that most of Army, Navy, Air Force are made up primarily of support services such as finance, administration, supply, vehicle/plane repair, etc.
Drafting woman and putting them into these support roles would have allowed more men to hit the jungles in 'Nam and probably the deserts in the past wars.
I know for me, I always felt a little PO'ed at the number of guys in 'Nam who had nice barracks, decent food and cat houses to visit while I was grunting my way with foot fungus in the jungles. (Ok, I was jealous!)
I think we can't have it both ways. If women demand equal treatment, then they must also be subject to any draft. I do not believe in the draft, but females should register, just like males have to.
All 3 of my sons were, or are, in the Army. They do not want to serve with anyone who does not want to be there. They proudly chose the life.
I would have no problem if every person be required to serve in some form of military or community service after high school. Think of all that could be accomplished. I think they have this policy in Israel?
Woman should be required to serve in the military as well as men if a draft is ever implemented in this country again. Combat in the field isn't the only service option for the military. Navy service women currently serve on aircraft carriers as fighter pilots as well as many support functions on the ships.
I doubt the fact that Cruz is sexist will be a liability, in terms of courting the Republican vote
Why is that? Your comment offends every Republican woman, yet you think that's OK.
