Prison reform is sorely needed.
Not the release the non violent offenders nonsense where felons plead down so prosecutors could get a quick win and poiticians can claim only non violent offenders will be released, but the essence of how prisons are run, who goes to prison vs saving us money and requiring restitution vs cell time. Prisoner rights where a guy who violates an administrative law, get time and becomes the victim of prison gangs.

Lot to be said in that direction.

Agree, BS is another theoretical liberal whose flat world stops at the door of reality.

HRC is a lying, divise, bumbling and selfish person who values herself and her legacy above the needs of the country. She'd do anything to get obama protection, his weaponized federal agencies and his propaganda achine to cover her lies and mistakes. Obama is pulling the rug from under her and she will turn on obama.

Dems will run Biden and Warren. Hope the repubs have been working on that contingency.

Tonight as I sit watching Bernie and Hillary debate, I'm proud to say I now consider myself a Democrat. Even though they may disagree and got testy at each other towards the end, the debate was so much more substantive and civil than watching the Republicans yell and shout and call each other names. Yes, good entertainment but much of what the Republicans rant about most of the time on the debate stage has no real substance or detail. Trump especially is good at generalizing what he wants to do, that does lure people in, but has no real explanation on how he proposes to get it done and doesn't seem to have the capacity to explain how to do it.

I just don't think that Trump has the intellectual oratory to really take on either Bernie or Hillary. Since it looks more and more that Trump will be the Republican nominee, I think he'll look pretty "lightweight" to put it in his terms, when debating either of Bernie or Hillary.

Gee, I guess I'm a ******* now? ...I'll put my flame suit as I know I'll get shot down by Trump supporters and others who support the Republican party candidates. I don't miss being a Republican as family values and less government are not principles that the party appears to uphold any longer.
Yes, if you support far left extremists like Bernie Sanders and Hillary, you qualify for the names and derision you invite in your post.

I do find it hilarious that you claim to support "less government" but align with these old socialists and the Democrat Party. I'm guessing you really don't understand anything about politics.

How naive!

Corporate America buys most politicians with donations. The only exception is Bernie Sanders. The public at large can only choose from among those that are the puppets of the big corporations.

Why would ALL these corporations invest millions in Washington DC? Do you know why?

I'm all for a progressive income tax rate, but the federal government taking 52% of a person's income is nothing short of legislating theft. The 52% is just the fed's cut, that does not even consider the tax revenue needed by the state, county and city, nor does that factor in other taxes, like sales taxes, property taxes, etc...

Sanders would have the feds pick all the meat off the taxpayer, leaving nothing but chicken bones for the state or local governments to fight over.

I don't think people will sit back and just take the hit, without reacting to this level of theft.

Top marginal income tax of 52 percent on income above $10 million. In 2013, just 0.01 percent of taxpayers had income exceeding $10 million.

That is a very, very high threshold for when the 52% applies and I really dont worry too much about the well-being of the 0.01% when salt of the earth Americans go bankrupt because of cancer treatment. These ultra rich have been buying politicians for decades now and will continue to do just fine but will no longer have so much ability to influence the political process. We can have great wealth concentrated in the hands of a tiny elite or we can have democracy but we cant have both.
