The Republican party has hoodwinked conservatives for three decades. People have finally wised up and this is the new Republican party you see. People no longer fall for candidates who spouse conservatism then go to Washington and do things that harm people. Trump asked one simple question 6 months ago that finally opened my eyes: Ford is building a $2.5B plant in Mexico. How does that help us?

Some might look at the fact that Trump, unlike Sanders or Clinton has created thousands of jobs. As for his clothing line? It is a very small market.
NAFTA and now Obama's latest trade deal by comparison have nothing but damaged American manufacturing.
The point is Trump Employees thousands, has real experience. Clinton and Sanders? Neither have had a private sector job in decades.

Mr. Trump doesn't mean what he says. In addition to making Macy's Trump-branded crappy clothing line in China, he has sought over 1,100 visas for foreign workers for his properties. Donald Trump's companies sought visas to import at least 1,100 workers - Business Insider

Mick
Yes--interesting, and when questioned about it, Trump replied:

"These are all legal visas. But they — we have to bring people in, which tells you, I mean, you can have jobs out there, in certain communities that are doing well. But in Palm Beach, getting help in Palm Beach during the season is almost impossible. So we go through a very legal process, and we bring people in through legal visas.”

First of all--I don't believe he cannot find seasonal workers--plenty of legal US workers in South Florida would do seasonal work. (Check out seasonal South Beach.)

Second of all--he needs to import fashion models? Can't find any American models (Miami is a model haven). He's so full of it.

"...Nine companies majority-owned by Trump have sought to bring in foreign waitresses, cooks, vineyard workers...Two of his companies, Trump Model Management and Trump Management Group LLC, have sought visas for nearly 250 foreign fashion models, the records show."

...
The candidate's foreign talent hunt included applications for an assistant golf-course superintendent, an assistant hotel manager and a banquet manager."

"Tom Veenstra, senior director of support services at Career Source, said if Mar-A-Lago officials were interested in finding workers, all they had to do was contact him.
“We’re here to find jobs for people in Palm Beach County,” Veenstra said. “That’s what we do. We do it for free.”

Veenstra said he had no record of Mar-A-Lago’s staff contacting Career Source for help. If they had he could have easily found them workers."

Both political parties have hoodwinked all of us for the last 3 decades. Continuing to fight the false war that one is better than the other, only detracts from that.

The profits from that plant will allow Ford to continue operating its plants in the USA, and help subsidize the cost of American workers.

a) This idea is cold comfort and meaningless to the tens of thousands who lost their jobs
b) The reduction of the U.S. work force is less people in the auto unions. Say what you will about unions, but how can you be a Democratic party union supporter when someone like Hillary is trying to eliminate your union?
c) That plant used to be in the U.S., so the same profits benefited the same plants in the U.S., so the point is immaterial
d) Multiply this by the thousands of events like Carrier and that translates to millions of jobs

Thank you but that is not enough. You are firing living, breathing humans with families, children and homes in exchange for raising the stock price by buck 90. The damage is far more than this. Entire swaths of the country is reduced to wasteland, for what? Unfortunately, we have to play hardball. We will figure out how much Ford saves by skirting our environmental, labor and safety laws, not to mention labor costs, and tack it on to every car they bring back. Le't see who leaves the country now.

Who knew? The infamous "Joe the Plumber" who dissed Obama in 2008 just got a union (gasp) job with Chrysler, the company that my man Obama et al bailed out.
