I still don't understand the issue. Does 'black' sound better than, say, "African American"? I thought the latter was less prone to accusation of racism? Or maybe I'm being thick here?

The issue is, Sanders knows nothing about blacks and doesn't know how to communicate with them, Sanders is just there to get their votes!

Well can you really blame Bernie? When he was a kid in his formidable years black folk were really being treated as second class citizens. I know he walked with MLK but it still has to be difficult for him to relate to blacks and most of them probably see him as a dried up piece of white toast.

Black people who know what he is about support him. Polls show that huge numbers of African Americans believe he will reward his wealthy donors once in office.

Its a familiary and information problem, not that they dont like his policies. Less than 0.1% had heard about him a year ago...
