I noticed that too. This article came out yesterday...the WT couldn’t have been the only news organization that noticed. If it's a trend that spreads into Super Tuesday though we'll probably start reading articles about the enthusiastic Republican base versus the dutiful Dems and what Hillary has to do to turn it around.

I noticed it, and started a topic on it last week.

Their turnout is down around 22% in the 2 caucuses & primary held so far. But even more dunning for them the GOP turnout is breaking records. Here is the nitty gritty of NH & Iowa.

Democrats in Serious Trouble, lost more than 135,000 voters in just 2 states.

You can't compare it to 2008 when there were more candidates with ground game, while this time its only 2. Republicans have lots and lots of candidates with ground game.

Look at the only primary the Dems have had. Sanders won more votes than any other Dem has won in the history of NH primaries. A state he was down more than 30 points in the polls.

But..... in that highly contested race, turnout was a disaster the Democrats in this very reliably Blue state. The GOP out polled the Democrats in NH by significant margin, and this never happens in that state in an open election year.

  • 2008 - 234,851

So in just two small states, and one of them is decidedly a Blue state, the Democrats have lost 135,898 registered voters in just 8 years.

This is very bad news for where things are headed for the Democrats in the general election. Further proof that the Democrats have lost much of the middle class.
